The eighth race Saturday Night at Derby Lane features eight pups that have advanced from achieving their maiden victories right up to winning against the best of the best in grade A competition over the past several months. Usually you can expect to see the unexpected when young pups meet up but this group while young at age has accumulated a fair amount of racing experience already in their short careers.
The morning line favorite is number two Nicolaus Silver who has won two in a row and looks well placed to bring home the gold. Racing out of the four hole is Jack’s Shortfuse who seems capable of clearing near the leaders and closing strong in the stretch. Racing from post one M’s Free Agent will get plenty of respect from the betting public and is well spotted to take down the crown against this group. For those railbirds looking for a longshot winner we think that Backwood Ike just may shoot out to an early lead and if any trouble develops he could upset the apple cart.
All in all this shapes up as a very competitive race and you won’t want to miss it.
