Jacksonville Puppy Stakes Wrap Up

Paddy Whacker Spanks the field in Jacksonville Puppy Stakes
Saturday night at the Orange Park Kennel Club was the scene of the running of the 2010 JGR Puppy Stakes and a BJ Racing Kennel ‘s  brindle pup named Paddy Whacker put a beating on this field of nice young pups.
Often times puppy stakes or juvenile stake races are comprised of pups that have yet to win an official race and the racing can be quite unpredictable but this form of a puppy race matches up young dogs that are fairly well experienced who are in the process of making a mark for themselves.
Several of the pups in this field have already notched wins in Grade A but that didn’t seem to make much difference to Paddy Whacker who easily pulled away to an impressive victory. Take Paddy Whacker out of the race and this was a very competitive field but he was in the race and he turned it into a runaway. Going forward I will be most interested to see who the greyhound is that can come from behind in a race and catch Paddy Whacker, one thing I’m sure of is that it won’t be any of the group he beat here.
