Gulf's Greyhound of the Week and Sprint Champ!

Look My Way Texas Round Up Champ
We had the extreme pleasure of crowning a champion this week here at Gulf Greyhound Park. On Saturday evening July 3, the rain that had plagued the track all week long had finally disappeared and the fans were treated to one of the most exciting races in the history of the $50,000 TGA Texas Round Up Sprint Championship. On paper, the race appeared to be a wide-open affair but Look My Way from D.Q. Williams Kennel headed into the finals as the morning line favorite winning his last two races to earn the most points during the qualifying rounds. Along with Look My Way, the point standings showed Atascocita Vito, Deco Bull Rum and Gable Teresa as the major contenders to take it all.
In the early portion of the Championship Final, Look My Way broke from the #7 post position in the middle of the field but rushed past the early competition to a two-length advantage around the first turn. As the race progressed, Look My Way continued to lead but Atascocita Vito was looming as the nearest threat stalking the frontrunner down the backstretch. When the field turned for home, Look My Way showed all of his heart and determination holding off the wide, last minute charge of Atascocita Vito to win by the narrowest of margins in the fastest time of the day, 29.89 seconds.

Congratulations go out to Look My Way (Dodgem By Design – Keeper Matts Bee) who chose the perfect time to get on a `hot streak` winning three consecutive races including the $50,000 final for D.Q. Williams Kennel and trainer Craig Edwards. Look My Way has won eight times out of 22 starts this year and is now the `King of the Hill` of greyhound racing in the state of Texas.
