Courtesey of Gulf Greyhound
It was a great week and an even better year of 2010 for this week’s Greyhound of the Week, Look My Way from D.Q. Williams Kennel. The 2010 AuRevoir Feature Race included Look My Way and seven more of the top sprinters that Gulf Greyhound Park had to offer.
The post position draw for the AuRevoir was #1 C Ya Salty Dog, #2 Look My Way, #3 KB’s Cigar Slam, #4 I Dont Remember, #5 Jedi
Dangeranger, #6 Nina’s Wagster, #7 BOW Flutterby and #8 Cry Homer.
Heading into the finale on a two-race winless streak, Look My Way was sent off as the second betting choice right behind C Ya Salty Dog sitting on the rail. As the race began, KB’s Cigar Slam and I Dont Remember dueled for the lead as Look My Way worked his way up the rail and slid underneath C Ya Salty Dog to tuck in neatly behind the frontrunners. KB’s Cigar Slam would take control of the race down the backstretch and Look My Way closed ground inching closer and closer to challenge the leader. Down the homestretch they came as KB’s Cigar Slam was desperately trying to hold off the hard charging Look My Way and both greyhounds hit the wire together. The results of the photo finish showed Look My Way winning by the narrowest of margins to claim the AuRevoir Feature Race in a time of 31.14 seconds over a wet track.
Look My Way (Dodgem By Design – Keeper Matts Bee) finished 2010 as the best 550-yard sprinter at Gulf Greyhound Park with 22 wins, just one victory behind 660-yard specialist Atascocita Vito from Libby Racing Kennels. Congratulations to the reigning TGA Texas Round-Up Champion and AuRevoir Champion, Look My Way, and trainer Craig Edwards for a fantastic year of racing.
