NGA News - Aerial Battle returns with a vengeance

NGA News -  Capabal kennel's Aerial Battle returned with a vengeance after his win streak was snapped at seven in a row. Aerial Battle (Dodgem By Design x Abita Cruzin) who was a Team II All-American in 2010 finished eighth in his qualifying round of the T. L. Weaver on June 1. The 79-pound male made a remarkable recovery this year from a stopper injury last year and is in the hunt for "top dog" status this meet that ends June 30. Aerial Battle returned on June 10th after resting for nine days and won easily from post two on June 10 to record a 62nd career win. John Bladen of OK owns Aerial Battle. The stellar male is currently in third place with 20 wins. Aerial Battle competes in race six Wednesday night June 15 and seeks career win 63.

Battle is just one win behind the historic Hi Noon Renegade (Nova kennel). McAllister kennel's Flyin Carnoustie (Dragon Fire x Flying Snap On) is the current win leader boasting 23 wins of 35 starts and a season record of 35/23-4-3-2. Carnoustie is owned by Vince Berland of KS. Carnoustie also competes Wednesday night seeking four in a row in race eleven.

Other news: Kennels are prepping their stars for the upcoming St. Petersburg Derby. Round one is Saturday night June 18. Royal Racing's Storm Rush has caught the attention of many. The 65-pouns powerhouse was the only female and the youngest in the final of the T. L. Weaver stakes. She was moved back to the 660-yards and won grade A on June 11 to meet the requirements for the distance stakes. James Hambleton of KS owns Storm Rush who at the time of this writing has only 15 career starts. Keep an eye on this youngster trained by Doug Flint that is expected to be among the Derby starters. Storm Rush also competes Wednesday night June 15 in race 8.
