NGA News - Things started out slowly for Green Smith's three auction purchases at Bluffs Run Thursday (see yesterday's post), but continually improved as the program went on.
TK Mad Money, the first of Green's three pups bought at the Spring Meet to see action yesterday, failed to fire and finished last in her first official Maiden race. She'd won her last schooling race by 8 lengths going into the event.
In race 4, KB's Dimmitt-- also in his first official Maiden event-- fared much better, finishing a strong second despite encountering much traffic and some trouble throughout the race. Dimmitt was purchased by Smith from Ken Biehle at the NGA Auction for $9,000.
Smith's final purchase to see action yesterday, KB's Camden, was in the 7 box in race 10, and went box to wire to win his Grade D race by 4 lengths in a quick 30.37. Camden (another Biehle sale--$19,000) is two-for-two in official races and four-for-four, counting two earlier schooling wins.
Meanwhile, SE's Tali Aspen has drawn in a Grade B race tomorrow (Saturday) at Tri-State. The Spring Meet's top sale at $35,000 (sold by Penny Wick and Steve Ward to Terry Scott) takes five straight wins, including a Maiden, D and C victory, into the event. She has the 3 box in the second race.
