NGA News - Green pups racing today

NGA News -  Green Smith, top buyer at the recent NGA Spring Meet Auction in Abilene, has three of his young purchases going in today's races at Bluffs Run. All three are racing out of the Red Rock Kennel.

TK Mad Money (a December 2009, Dodgem By Design-Rooftop Ladybug), sold to Smith by Marty Tanner for $13,000, is in her first official Maiden race (Race 2). She came from off the pace in her last schooling race (May 24) to win by 8 lengths in 31.39. Mad Money, who ran fourth in the December Main Stake in Abilene in April, will race from the 2 box in today's event.

In today's fourth event at Bluffs, KB's Dimmitt, also a December '09 (Lonesome Cry-Track Baby), will also be seeing his first official-race action. Dimmitt, who ran second in the same December final in which TK Mad Money competed, was sold by Ken Biehle in the auction for $9,000. KB's Dimmitt is also coming off a big schooling win in his last outing--an 11-length romp in 31-flat. He'll be running from the 6 box in today's matinee race.

Another Biehle sale during the Spring Meet, KB's Camden (Team Record*-BI's Hunter) will be going in today's 10th race at Bluffs.  Camden, who ran fourth in an October main-stake final in Abilene, will be in a Grade D race, having already won his first Maiden trial by 3 1/2 lengths in 30.43. Camden, a $19,000 sale from Biehle to Smith, sports two two schooling-race wins prior to his Maiden victory. He's drawn the
7 box for today's contest.

Post-time for Bluffs Run's race program today is 4 p.m., CDT.

In other action at Bluffs involving NGA Meet pups, Kells Danny Boy (Atascocita Leroy-Too Late)--another Green Smith purchase (this one for $26,000, from John Dalton)--finished second as the sold 20-cent favorite in his first Maiden voyage on May 31. Danny Boy, winner of the October One main-stake final in Abilene in one of the fastest times of the meet (30.04), had won both schooling races impressively prior to his May 31 outing--the latter one by 11 lengths in a 30.93.

Meanwhile, at Tri-State, the Spring Meet's top sale and performer, SE's Tali Aspen, continued her winning ways on May 28 by capturing her Grade C event. The November 2009 daughter of Kiowa WW Brother-Time For A Party, sold by Penny Wick and Steve Ward for $35,000 in Abilene after her two 30-flat performances while winning a main-stake, now sports three wins in three official outings (M,D and now Grade C). Coupled with two schooling wins, her next program will show nothing but wins--five of them altogether.
