NGA News - SE's Tali Aspen makes her top-grade debut Monday evening (June 13) at Tri-State and will be facing the track's top winner and Juvenile champ Rico's Vermilion.
Aspen, NGA Spring Meet's top racer and auction sale in April, has perfectly navigated the grading ladder at the West Virginia track and brings a five-for-five record into the AA event. Her last two wins--in Grade B and Grade A--were by 13 1/2 and 8 lengths, respectively. She races for the Tomblin Kennel at Tri-State and will have the 8 box in Monday's event.
SE's Tali Aspen (Kiowa WW Brother-Time For A Party) was sold by Steve Ward and Penny Wick at the NGA Spring Meet to Terry Scott for $35,000 after capturing the November Main Stake with the two fastest performances of the week.
Rico's Vermilion, owned by Ricardo Pacheco and racing for the Williamson Kennel, brings a 20-3-2-1 record in 32 starts for the year into the race. The daughter of Kiowa Sweet Trey-Gable Vermilion won the $35,000 WVGOBA Juvenile on May 7. She'll be running from the 4 box in today's event.
Another pup sold by Steve Ward at the Spring Meet--SE's Goods (Red Ranger-Ozsum-Moonmist)--will go for her Maiden win at Bluffs Run on Tuesday, having finished second in all three of her first M starts. SE's Goods sold for $8,000 at the auction to Green Smith and races for the Red Rock Kennel.
Two Kells pups from John Dalton's Atascocita Leroy-Too Late litter that also shined during the Spring Meet will also see action early this week. Kells Neon Flash, purchased from Dalton by Bradford Bolton for $9,000, will be going for her fourth straight win in the second race at Palm Beach Tuesday afternoon. She has a 3-1-0 mark in 4 outings and will be running from the 8 hole in the Grade C event.
Neon Flash's brother, Kells Outlaw, who sold to Terry Scott for $16,000, will race Wednesday in the Grade C seventh race at Tri-State. Outlaw has been in-the-money in all four of his starts (1-1-2).
