NGA News - One of the nice "Turbo" pups bred by Ed Gardner, Jr., out of Turbo Penske-Turbo Wind Burn, that competed at the Spring Meet captured her J race at Palm Beach Saturday night in the fastest time on the card.
Turbo Porsha, who usually demonstrates a strong late kick to hit the board and paysheet, this time broke on top from the 6 box in the ninth race and sailed to a 6-length win in 29.87--best of the program. In her first and only start in Maiden on June 4, she'd won by 7 1/2 lengths. The win boosted Porsha's young career record to 2-2-0 in just 4 outings. Porsha, now owned by Norma Rader and Gary Samuels, races for the Rader Racing Kennel.
While several littermates performed well in Abilene, Turbo Porsha ran out of the money in the opening round--but was a close fourth in that race. She was subsequently scratched in the auction.
Turbo's parentage is a repeat mating that previously produced an excellent litter (February 2009) that includes Turbo Lennie, who was undefeated after the first two rounds of the Southland 5/16 Derby, which will conclude on July 4.
