NGA News - Two the pups from John Dalton's Kells litter at the Spring Meet did well at two different tracks yesterday (Wednesday).
Kells Danny Boy (Atascocita Leroy-Too Late) won his Maiden for the Red Rock Kennel at Bluffs Run. Danny Boy sold to Green Smith for $26,000--second highest sale at the Spring Meet Auction.
The win boosted Kells Danny Boy's record to 1-1-0 in just 2 starts, preceded by two impressive schooling-race wins at the Iowa track.
Later yesterday, Danny Boy's brother, Kells Outlaw, finished third in the 14th Grade C race at Tri-State. Outlaw was purchased by Terry Scott for $16,000 at the Spring Meet Auction and now races for the Tomblin Kennel.
The effort gave Kells Outlaw a 1-1-2 record in just 4 starts--the black pup having won his first race in Maiden back on May 19.
The Spring Meet's top sale, SE's Tali Aspen, will be going for her fifth straight win in Thursday night's 11th race (Grade A) at Tri-State. The $35,000 sales has won most of her races by impressive margins, usually in the fastest time of the day. Tali Aspen was sold by Penny Wick and Steve Ward to Terry Scott in April's sale.
Four other auction purchases will also be seeing action Thursday at Bluffs Run: KB's Dimmitt (Maiden), BI's Tooters (Grade D), KB's Camden (Grade C) and TK Mad Money (Maiden). Two more are entered in Friday's races at Bluffs: BI's Cole (Maiden) and KB's Normangee (Grade D).
