NGA News - Pups that were in the NGA Spring Meet Track Stakes and Auction in late April had a pretty good final week in June at racetracks around the country.
Last Friday (June 24), two auction pups won their Maidens in race 1 and race 5 at Palm Beach. The $1,500 sale KB's Drooping (Oshkosh Slammer-Tempo Artic Fox) won her third Maiden start in 30.44. Drooping was sold at the by Ken Biehle to Christina Newsome.
Four races later, the $2,500 sale KB's Bandera won his Maiden at Palm Beach for the Rader Kennel in a swift 30.10. Bandera (Oshkosh Slammer-Lil Kaci) was sold by Ken Biehle to Ed Gardner, Jr. in the auction.
Another Biehle pup, KB's Harlingen (Rhythmless-HH Lexus Lady) won her Grade D at Palm Beach two days later by a romping 14 lengths in 29.81 (second fastest time on the program). She'd been sold for $3,500 to Norma Rader and Ed Gardner.
Later in the week (on Wednesday, June 29), well more than a thousand miles away in Iowa, still another Biehle sale, KB's Dimmitt, was winning his Maiden at Bluffs Run. A runnerup in the December 1 main-stake final, Dimmitt (Lonesome Cry-Track Baby) was purchased for $9,000 by Green Smith in Abilene. The Red Rock Kennel youngster won the contest from the 8 box by 4 lengths in 30.80 as the race-favorite.
