Since earning the Greyhound of the Week honors for the first time in November 2011, there have a couple of times (December 2011 and March 2012) that Golddust Hades of D.Q. Williams Kennel could have easily taken the spotlight again. Finally, Golddust Hades made a bold statement saying, `this time it is all mine!` and takes the honors this week with his latest three race winning streak.

with an all out determined drive winning by a nose in an exciting, blanket finish amongst four greyhounds. After pursuing pacesetting Dodgen Shoes of Sambade Racing, LLC throughout the race, Golddust Hades took full advantage of an opening at the top of the stretch as Dodgen Shoes drifted to the outside portion of the racetrack and seized the victory. Atascocita Ester of Libby Racing Kennels and Spry Moylan of K-Rod Kennel raced as a tandem duo chasing the leaders and came flying down the stretch in the middle of the track but ran out of real estate finishing a narrow second and third place respectively.
Fresh off that determined effort, the next opportunity for Golddust Hades fell on Saturday evening April 21 drawing the #6 difficult post position. After breaking in the middle of the pack, Golddust Hades found his way down to the rail around the first turn and immediately had race leader Admiral of Tri-State Kennel in his sights. The stage was set once again for another fantastic finish and these two stars did not disappoint. Stride for stride down the stretch, Golddust Hades had just enough to reach the finish line on top by less than a length as the slight 2 to 1 favorite and his second consecutive victory.
In the featured tenth race on Thursday evening April 26, it was a crowning achievement for Golddust Hades. Sporting the lucky #7 candy-stripes, Golddust Hades took charge early and was full of run on this night romping home to a six-length victory in a career best sizzling time of 29.75 seconds and extending his win streak to three in a row.
This latest run of success has improved the 2012 record for the 69-pound fawn male bred from Fuzzys Cannon and Golddust Olympia to 19/6-1-4-1 and career numbers totaling 54/19-6-9-2. Still at the young age of two, Golddust Hades has made a bold statement to the rest of the elite competition at Gulf Greyhound Park that he will be a force to be dealt with. Congratulations go out to owner Sharon Williams, trainer Craig Edwards and this week’s star of the show, Golddust Hades, for this week’s honors.
