|BWG Judy Carol|
BWG Judy Carol, a 66-pound white/red daughter of Starz Jenko – Cry Dinero, has begun her career with a very profitable record of 27/7-5-8-3, but if her two top grade winning efforts that earned the Greyhound of the Week honors are any sign of the skills she possesses, then the sky’s the limit.
Owned by kennel owner David Dickson and trained by Sissy Sabell, BWG Judy Carol graduated from the maiden class on August 11 in her second official start after a troublesome debut. The journey through grade J was a lengthy but very consistent one landing on the pay sheet one time after another until finally tasting victory again on September 16 and quickly followed with a win in grade C in her next attempt.
The climb through the grade ladder continued with two more finishes in the money against grade B competition and after a seventh place finish, the winning ways returned for BWG Judy Carol on October 10. Finding success in her next three starts with two third place and one second place finish in grade A, the connections of Big Water Kennel entered their rising star into the $20,000 Texas Roundup Sprint Championship. Unfortunately, the stay did not last long departing after two rounds with a seventh and third place finish respectively.
Returning back into grade A competition, two additional third place efforts in three races led up to a monumental effort on November 16 as BWG Judy Carol eclipsed the thirty second barrier for the first time in her young career with a 29.94 three-length winning effort and advanced into the elite competition of Gulf Greyhound Park. After a respectable fourth place finish in her top grade debut on Thanksgiving night, BWG Judy Carol did not waste any more time finding the winner’s circle again.
On Sunday afternoon November 25, BWG Judy Carol took advantage of the #2 post position by sliding inside some traffic troubles around the first turn and emerged in second place with speedball Algoa Big Red of Currid Racing in her sights. With a powerful move around the far turn and continuing into the stretch, BWG Judy Carol swung wide around the pacesetter racing away to a four-length victory and her first ever top grade AA triumph.
Saturday evening’s thirteenth race on December 1 was the next opportunity for BWG Judy Carol and a very similar scenario emerged once again. This time sporting the white colors of the #3 post position, BWG Judy Carol found herself in second place around the first turn chasing another speedster in the form of Ultra Goldie of K-Rod Kennel. BWG Judy Carol began to chop away at the large lead held by Ultra Goldie and with another wide, sweeping move at the top of the stretch, BWG Judy Carol passed her rival in deep stretch to reach the finish line 1½ lengths in front. This was not only her second consecutive grade AA victory, but also the crowning achievement of her young career blazing the 550-yard course with her best time ever at 29.90 seconds.
