PALM BEACH KENNEL CLUB ROUND 2 $20,000 DICK ANDREWS FUTURITY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, DECEMBER 12!

QUALIFYING CONTINUES FOR PALM BEACH KENNEL CLUB’S $20,000 DICK ANDREWS FUTURITY
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, DECEMBER 12!

West Palm Beach, Fl. - Second-round qualifying action for Palm Beach Kennel Club’s $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity takes place Wednesday afternoon, December 12.

All 40 Greyhounds from round one will compete in rounds two and three (Saturday afternoon, December 15), with the top 16 point earners advancing to the semifinals Wednesday afternoon, December 19.

After a six-day rest and a Merry Christmas, the elite eight will meet in the finale of the $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity Wednesday afternoon, December 26.

In the first round, Rader Racing Kennel scored four wins out of the five qualifying events. Wednesday afternoon looks a little bit tougher for the powerhouse kennel.

Race 8 features first-round victor #2 Ranger Trent (Trent Lee - Greys Magic Rock, Rader Racing). Trent may have his paws filled in this one with potential threats from the strong first-turn rusher #6 Norman Bates (Gable Oscar - KB’s Kickitup, Brindle Kennel), the late-speedster #7 Gable Daughtry (Gable Sour Cream - Sweetsouthern, B & B Racing) and the well-positioned #8 San Tan Rightwon (Right Connection - HD’s Golden Bell, Steve Gilster Kennel).

Race 10 features Rader’s only loss from the first round, #1 Bae Sang (Super Lee - Sang Hwa). In this event, redemption should come as this youngster will have a ton of room to reach the backstretch in good shape.

Two first-round victors will face off in Race 12, as #2 Meena Lee (Super Lee - Sang Hwa, Rader Racing) tangles with the early speedster - and half sister - #3 Gable Espresso (Super Lee - Gable Cocodrie, B & B Racing). If a big qualifying upset occurs, it will most likely be in this event.

In Race 14, I’ll make this short and sweet. #4 CT Heartbreaker (Lonesome Cry - Another Breeze).

The final qualifier of the afternoon, Race 15, showcases the puppy phenom #5 O Ya Billy Bob (Dodgem By Design - O Ya Cranberry, Rader Racing). Billy Bob will be going for his sixth-consecutive victory and sixth-straight sub-30 second race time. He will need a sharp break to stave off the early speed and strong early rushes of co-qualifiers #4 Anne Francis (Gable Oscar - KB’s Kickitup, Brindle Kennel), #6 Gable Latte (Super Lee - Gable Cocodrie, B & B Racing) and #7 San Tan Sawbones (Super Lee - San Tan Geez, Steve Gilster Kennel)

Post time for the first race Wednesday afternoon is 1:00 p.m.

The Futurity is named in honor of former PBKC kennel operator, humanitarian and 2004 inductee to the Greyhound Hall of Fame Dick Andrews.

Point System: 1st - 15 points, 2nd - 10, 3rd - 6, 4th - 4, 5th - 3, 6th - 2,
7th - 1, 8th - 0
