ROUND ONE QUALIFYING FOR PALM BEACH KENNEL CLUB’S $50,000 JAMES W. PAUL 3/8THS MILE DERBY
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, FEBRUARY 6!
West Palm Beach, Fl. - Round one qualifying action for Palm Beach Kennel Club’s $50,000 James W. Paul 3/8ths Mile Derby gets underway Wednesday afternoon, February 6.
Fifty-six Greyhounds will go to post in seven qualifying races which will be contested on the 660-yard Pat C Rendezvous Three-Eighths Mile Course.
All 56 Greyhounds will return for round on Saturday afternoon, February 9. Following round two, the field will be trimmed to 32 for round three Wednesday afternoon, February 13. The top 16 point earners from the third round will compete in the Derby semifinals Sunday afternoon, February 17.
The $50,000 James Paul Derby Championship Final will be contested Saturday afternoon, February 23.

In Race 6, who many call the pre-championship favorite #1 Palm City Pamela (Dodgem By Design - KB’s Annabella, B & B Racing Kennel) appears likely to score the round-one victory while in Race 8, the duo of #1 WW Kay Star (Kiowa Swet Trey - Gale WW Ebb Tide, North Shore) and #8 Atascocita Tana (Atascocita Leroy - Atascocita Flame, Suncoast) should garner much fan support.
Qualifying events will also be held in races four, ten, twelve, fourteen and fifteen.
Post time for Wednesday afternoon’s first race is 1:00 p.m.
This will be the 82nd running of the Derby, one of the nation’s longest running stake events, and is named in honor of humanitarian, greyhound owner and dedicated supporter of Greyhound adoption James W. Paul.
