Tucson Sprinters Highlight Card

from old timer Bill Bristol

Tonight at the Tucson Greyhound Park the sprinters, and I mean the ones who only race around one turn and clock in at 17sec or so, are the main draw at the desert oval. Racing  together over the 316 yard distance Savvy Loma and Bella Jade have waged quite a duel  these past few weeks and tonight’s rematch has all the makings of another showdown at the OK Corral. While this rivalry has been totally one sided with Savvy Loma winning the last seven meetings and Bella Jade setting for the place money in each of those races, the worm may be ready to turn tonight. Upon closer observation of the past performance lines it appears that Bella is closing the gap between the two speedsters. Last time out Loma held on to win by just a head and Jade was closing fast in late stretch. Tonight from the inside two hole Bella just may be in striking distance a little sooner than usual and of course Loma may be losing a lit bit of that edge that has propelled him on this seven race winning streak.  However this race shakes out you can be sure that while it won't last long while it does last it will be a thrilling ride to all those aboard.
